Please consult your vehicle’s owners manual to determine your factory tow weight rating and never exceed it. No aftermarket products can increase your factory tow weight rating. If your vehicle's tow rating is less than the rated towing capacity on your EcoHitch® trailer hitch, your trailer hitch capacity is limited to your vehicle's factory rated towing capacity. As a general rule, the use of extensions, hitch adapters, bike racks, cargo trays and other towing accessories can reduce the tongue weight capacity / vertical load capacity of your vehicle’s receiver hitch. When extensions, hitch adapters, bike racks, cargo trays and other towing accessories are added to your receiver hitch and are under 12” in length, it reduces load capacity by 25 percent, and if it is over 12” it reduces load capacity by 50 percent.
